MARY MICHELL is a Chicago-based actor with a special love for the classics. She performed with ShawChicago Theatre Company for 20 years. In 2018 she directed a critically acclaimed production of Arms and the Man for that company’s 25th season. Favorite roles for ShawChicago include Lady Bracknell (The Importance of Being Earnest), Judith Bliss (Hayfever), Lady Britomart (Major Barbara), Amanda (Private Lives), and Mary Todd Lincoln (Look Away). In Chicago, she also appeared at Oak Park Festival Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, Bailiwick Repertory, Drury Lane, Illinois Theatre Center, The Ivanhoe Theatre, and The Academy Playhouse. Regional work includes Arena Stage; Actors Theatre of Louisville; Mummers Theatre in Oklahoma City; and Cherry County Playhouse. She is the Artistic Director of the newly founded Misalliance Repertory Theatre, a company dedicated to presenting works that ignite social consciousness. She is a member of Actors Equity Association
